There are a few that are first year on F5, but not Twisters. Most have been on a World's Team at least a year or two. Some came from other gyms as well.W.O.W.....so it's like over 1/2 of F5 are first years!! That's a lot of fresh talent! Good luck ladies, can't wait to see what you all put on the mat!!!
Since I started the post about the subject I wanted to clarify that I absolutely do not think having less than full team is cheating in any way. It is entirely within the rules and teams are smart to use it to their advantage. My personal opinion is that teams should be scored on maximums based on what a full team has, so 5 stunts would be max for a small team and if you have less than 5 you don't get the max score regardless of how many athletes are on the mat. I feel as you said it is much harder to field a full team, and so it should be rewarded for doing so.
I'm trying to see your point and know we are all entitled to our own opinion but you're saying since my team cannot field of a team of 20 simply because we do not draw the athletes we should be penalized??Since I started the post about the subject I wanted to clarify that I absolutely do not think having less than full team is cheating in any way. Wow..... I'm really glad you don't write the rules. I respect your opinion but you just knocked about 3/4 of the gyms out there. The majority of gyms out there are small to medium sized and don't have an over abundance of level 5 kids They do everything they can to make their teams strong and to have to go in with a strike against them before they even compete because they don't have a full team is pretty unfair.Since I started the post about the subject I wanted to clarify that I absolutely do not think having less than full team is cheating in any way. I'm glad I don't write them either! I can see both sides of the argument. In other sports we don't expect football or basketball teams to play with one less person and not have a disadvantage, so I guess I consider it to be the same thing in cheer. I don't think there should be a deduction, but I think lately it has become more of an advantage than disadvantage and I think for max points you should have the maximum stunts/tumbling/etc for a full team. I don't remember it being the norm to have less than a full team but lately it seems many teams are doing it because there is an advantage to doing so.Wow.....
