Allstar Cheer And Rec Cheer

I am a curious fan. What is the difference between Allstar Cheer and Rec Cheer?

Rec cheer teams such as Pop Warner and AYC are typically associated with a sports program and primarily performs sideline routines. All stars sole goal is to compete and therefore do a different style and do not cheer for sports teams.

Rec is associated with some sort of nonprofit organization and typically (but doesn't always) support some sort of youth sport (i.e. football.)

I thought in order to be under rec, you had to cheer for a sport no matter what? I might've read something wrong.

If you're competing, some competitions require it, but some do not.

JAM Brands offers a performance rec category. Will that continue next year with the merger? We will see...
