I'm still puzzled by this:

"Another sticking point was the AAP's recommendation that pyramids or stunts only be performed on foam or spring floors, which Lord said may interfere with a cheerleader's balance."

Please - someone from AACCA explain how this was taken out of context or misquoted. Surely that cannot be their official position.

Maybe the way the put the question to him it sounded like they were talking about matting rather than a foam block or sprung floor...heres hoping
