I really want to know how Aly and Gabby look. I hope USAG posts camp videos. Laney Madsen was on the camp roster too, which is exciting!

I also just re-read this thread because I'm procrastinating and I'm still bitter about floor finals.

Has anyone seen a video of Laney's routines? Minus the quick little instagram stuff. I'm just super curious to see how the cheer to gymnastics transition is going.

Do you mean that little girl w/ the really good tumbling pass on Cali Coed last year - did she quit cheer to do gymnastics?

Yeah, she did. Judging from the national team camp invite I'd say it's going well, but I don't think she's competed yet.

Wow. That's very interesting. I'm sure floor, and probably vault, would be an easy catch up. As a flyer, beam may not be too bad either as a lot of it is mental/fear related, and flexibility is a big bonus on beam. However, bars, is probably the biggest toss up. Very few things translate to that event, so it could go either way.

I was wondering why I didn't see her doing a crazy pass in the CALI Coed video - I thought they might have just put her on another team.

Jordyn Wieber says shes officially not planning a comeback for Rio. But that was probably expected.

Jordyn Wieber not planning on Rio Olympics, report says | OlympicTalk

This doesn't surprise me. She has been at college since the Olympics, no? I follow her on Instagram and I have not seen any posts that indicate she was in the gym and focusing on training.

She will end her successful career on one of the highest notes there are for gymnasts, so that is great for her! I'm excited to see what she will be doing in the future!

I'm interested to see what Gabby Douglas has been up to and how her training has been going.

Yeah and all the other girls that tried before her.

I haven't seen anything from Aly Raisman or Gaby Douglas, but I know they're training....depending on what I see from them I'll probably want them to retire as well.

I just really like seeing new gymnast come up and flourish and I feel a sense of loyalty to older gymnasts. It's so conflicting

I don't believe she has returned to training either. She hasn't competed at all since the Olympics and is in school at UCLA, and she's just working out with their team. Since she turned pro before London she can't compete with them, but she's a student-assistant coach. Same thing Michael Phelps did at Michigan.

I miss Nastia so much and would have loved to seen her make it to those Olympics. She has an elegance that American gymnasts don't seem to have anymore :( - even her bars and vault were somehow beautiful and artistic!

I liked that Katelyn Ohashi a lot - she has really pretty form and flexibility and was looking forward to her being a contender for the 2016 Olympics, but I don't think she's doing Elite anymore cause she had injuries :(.

I think that's the best choice for Jordyn. She had an awesome career and you can't really go up from olympic gold so why set yourself up for defeat?

Interested to see Gabby and Aly in action. I don't see any of them making it onto the olympic floor. **maybe** Kyla, but I really question whether or not she can hold out another 2 years. Simone plus Bailie Key, Nia Dennis, and Norah Flatley aging up just in time for Rio makes for some STEEP competition. I can't wait to see who is on the floor come Rio!
