I thought Gabby looked stronger today than she did 4 years ago, I said "Wow" out loud more than a few times. I definitely think she is a lock for Rio pending any major issues or injuries, I thought Maggie did great too. At this point, I see Simone and Gabby as the only 2 locks for Rio and I think those will be our AA finalists as well.

I'm not sure why she didn't compete but I was glad they kept mentioning she'd be at Pacific Rim on April 10(?)



I was also shocked at Gabby's beam score. The whole time I was like "wow this is flawless and solid" (until the landing)

And then the judges were like "lol Erin shut up and be quiet on your couch"


I was impressed by both Maggie and Gabby's bars as well

Maggie (and Gabby as well TBH) have nice solid vaults, but I guess I'm just spoiled by all of this amanars. I wonder if Gabby will ever compete hers again.

I'm also going to have to go back and rewatch Maggie's floor, I know an article said it was new but I still didn't pay it much attention

I don't think we will see Gabby doing Amanar....her block is not good and her dty is really piked but she still has 5 months unitil rio so we will see.

I have no idea who will make Rio but a lot of these girls are great AAers but none of them has a stand out event (McKaylas vault) so I don't think all of them (Aly, Gabby, Maggie) will make it to Rio. If we have Aly Gabby Maggie Simone and let's say Ragan for Rio, for team finals you have 3 amazing floor routines, 3 amazing beam routines, one awesome Amanar and maybe 2 not so good Amanars. And then we have bars. Gabby is good, Maggie would also be used for bars but this where Madison is needed. So basically I have no idea who will make it.
 
I still feel like gabby is a lock. Marta prefers all arounders especially ones good on bars. It was the reason she went last time and her bars is actually getting up there what the last olympics. She and Madison have actually had scores really similar in international competition and Madison other events aren't as solid as gabby's. I can't even think of a true specialist that can make this team except maybe Norah. I think Marta would rather the puzzle have options. But you never know. Crazy things happen in the Olympic year. But I think by classics I'll have more of an idea.

I've watched bits and pieces of this but not the whole thing. From what I've gathered, it was a virtual tie if Maggie threw an amanar. I wonder why she decided not to.

I think Gabby will stay with the DTY. She seems to lack the power she once had on vault.

I think Maggie and her coaches decided not to do it because it's pretty early and just not worth the risk. Maggie has a good enough Amanar, but it's slightly scary so better to save it till the Olympic Trials process is closer
 
didn't know where else to put this but Gabby and family will be starring in their very own reality show this coming May. I like Gabby but I think it'll be a train wreck after her family already fought over her money from the olympics/endorsements and filed bankruptcy, the "child neglect," etc.

I'm really surprised that TPTB in USA gymnastics are okay w/ her doing something like this - perhaps there is something contractual that is ensuring it will be tasteful (like USAG gets to screen any gymnastics related content). Who knows.

So unfortunate. I hope this isn't a distraction for her training (why a May release?!). The coverage and the scrutiny that will come with a reality show being released right before the trials.... Seriously why. Who is advising her

I thought she was finally at a place where she was no longer putting her family's desire for fame above her talent....
