It's apparently not a big deal, they just don't want to risk anything.

Also not sure if this was posted, but Madison Kocian is rehabbing an small injury as well. She didn't even go to camp this time.

The girl is made of glass. She'll need to be bubble wrapped after every competition. She seems to have these little injuries all the time.
 
Wow! Simone's Cheng has got the be THE best I've seen so far. Definitely a front runner for vault gold. Also saw Aliya's bars somewhere on youtube and only had a 6.2 D-score which is far too low if she plans on defending her bars gold. Seda really is the "Russian hope". That beam work is very good. She just needs to be really consistent as with the rest of the Russian team because that's one their major weakness besides having average floor routines (well...except Ksenia) :D

Mustafina is still recovering from a knee surgery and suffering from back pain, she wasn't even suppose to be at the Russian Championships. Suffice it to say, her doctors were pretty upset to see her compete under Rodionenko's instructions...

Afanasyeva's floor routine was brutal to watch, she's clearly in pain. I still don't understand why they had her compete, she doesn't have to prove anything... it would have been so much better if she just rested this one out with Euros around the corner.

Oooh yeah I almost forgot about their injuries. Lol. So that's why. Tsk. Hope they get in competition shape before Euros
 
Simone scoring her highest all around score, yet, today. Yes, girl.

So I now want Simone, Maggie, Gabby, Laurie, and Aly in Rio. With Jazmyn/Norah/Ragan as any of the alternates. ...But then Madison Kocian on bars? eek. I don't even know if Marta would take a specialist at this point. With the exception of Simone they're also so closely matched; it's insane.
 
After watching PacRim last night and some of the re-air today I've decided that Simmone, Gabby, Aly and Laurie are for sure going to Rio

I don't think #5 competed at Pac Rim. Maybe Maggie or Madison

Maggie was supposed to be at Pac Rim so I'm holding out hope #5 was supposed to be there and she's it. ;) I don't know why I'm so emotionally attached to her, but I am.

Maggie 59.699

Brenna and Ragan are in the 58 range for AA. Madison's bars are great but we're winning Team with or without her. Without her, I'd say the highest on UB we'd get would be bronze, though, so it's definitely a possibility of throwing her in there.

I agree with this. I love little Ragan but I don't think she has the experience to hang w the big dogs. She has the skill, but when others have skill + experience, she gets left out of the mix IMO. I don't think Brenna or Ashton (just going off those at PacRim) bring enough to the table to outdo any of the others.

And for the Maggie vs Maddie showdown, I think I'm going with Maggie so long as she's 100%. I don't think her injury is bad but you never know. I'd be pretty bummed to see her miss out Bc of a small injury so close to the games.
