al qaeida ONLY acts when bin laden tells them to do so. they do not do ANYTHING unless he gives them the ok.
Good News - they have no leader, and whoever they elect probably wont be as smart and as good of a leader as he was. there were groups inside of al qaeida forming so they will probably split off now, which will weaken their power as a whole (strength in numbers)
