All-Star Blasphemy! Reasons We Don't Cheer

I watched it several times last night- laughing each time. The "perfect hair" also caused laughter since my son does have longer hair which he is required to pull back and my cp told him that it is now her goal to give him a poof and a bow for one of his games this year LOL

ETA: also when the mom part came up my son looked at me and said....ummmm mom- they nailed you LOL

I have no idea what you are talking about on the Mom thing. I'm always perfectly composed on the sidelines. Especially during State Cup! ;)

normally my son (who's a defender/keeper) will hear- do you WANT to WALK home???? my hubby has been kicked out of a couple of games due to "behaving himself" LOL. My son's team won the biggest tourney in the state and in the semifinal game it went to 11 rounds of shootout and he had the chance to win it and shot right to the keeper- I was just like I can't do this LOL- it's worse than cheer

We must be soccer sisters! My daughter was a center D and then moved to keeper 4 years ago when she left cheer. As you know there's more training required as a GK and that didn't work with the cheer hours.

I "may" have yelled during a corner kick this past weekend "DON'T LET THAT LITTLE PLAYER BLOCK YOUR VIEW, PUSH HER OUT OF THE WAY" before the kick. Of course I then proceeded to hide because as Team Manager I'm carded with the NCYSA and could have gotten a yellow card. Sometimes you just can't help it! Good times!

Yes definitely we could be soccer sisters- I have to sit with the keeper's parents since they are quiet- it helps me stay calm. If I am with some of the other parents...... let's just say I have actually heard the refs make comments about the "tenacity" of our parents  (husband is normally one of them LOL) Thankfully my son hasn't been keeper in years due to the fact that he keeps injuring his hand (looks like he broke it during practice last week UGH) so he's normally center back but for the most part the ball won't get past him. He is by far the fastest kid on the team and one of the best defenders out of both teams. We laughed because there was this one opponent that would always flop around him because he knew that he couldn't get through my son to the goal, and this went on for 2 years. Well this year he joined our team because he said if you can't beat them- join them..... We are slated to play his old team in a few weeks, but unfortunately he broke his shoulder during a play last weekend and of course due to shoddy officiating- no card...... but I could go on for DAYS about the officiating here in the PNW LOL

Completely agree! Having been in both worlds I actually thought it poked more fun at the soccer players. In a fun, we are pretty goofy way though.
My thoughts as well. Thses girls have made several videos about soccer making light of the idiosyncrasies and they have a very popular twitter account as well. I don't believe they mean any disrespect to cheer. Check out their other videos and you may agree.

@queenie - tagging you to watch the video since you were just talking about soccer and cheer ;)

My son, husband and I were watching several of them- and I have to agree- they just make fun of their sport more than anything....... made for a very entertaining evening :)

They don't cheer because they belch, and we all know that cheerleaders are all perfect little ladies who would NEVER do that!

Bwaaaaaahahaha!!!
