OT Bradenton/sarasota Area?

Is anyone on here familiar with that area? I may have a job offer to transfer down there and I was wondering specifically where I should be looking. My boyfriend and I are possibly considering a 2 bedroom apartment, not ridiculously expensive, but nice. I've found a few places but wanted some details on the area and what to be looking out for

I live about 45 minutes north of that area! And one of my best friends lives in Lakewood Ranch and like @BowsnBling said, It is very nice. I'm not too familiar with that area, but depending on how far you want to drive, Lakewood Ranch is fairly close to the skyway bridge (which leads into Pinellas county) and you can look at places in the St. Pete area!
