I'm guessing because Cali already has more teams in this than any other program. My understanding from someone somewhat in the "know" is that this was originally planned to be capped at 3 teams per gym.

But they won worlds unlike others and gave one of the most phenomenal Finals performances so I'm confused.... Because that's more than some.

But, if there are only 3 from each gym... Lady Bullets, Coed, and Smoed have been around longer, and probably draw more attention, so it makes sense for them to be invited
