All-Star Changing Comp Schedule

Once your gym's competition schedule is set, how often are changes made? I only have experience with CP's gym so I'm trying to gauge what's normal.

We only change if an EP cancels, changes dates, etc.

We usually do a rough schedule at try outs in the packet, mostly to figure out a price to tell parents. Last year, we had some EPs cancel the comps we scheduled, so we replaced them. For the most part, it stayed the same, and at the very least the dates stayed the same. We also added one competition that wasn't too far and was cheap. Adjusting the schedule a little doesn't bother me, but I think the key is keeping parents in the loop and not springing it on them.

our goal is to have our schedule set before tryouts and not change it any. but sometimes the EP's change dates and we have to adjust

It's pretty rare in my history with ACE. Occasionally something will cause a cancellation or Happy may decide to take a few teams to an additional competition. But still rare.

Ours only changed typically if a competition was canceled (which happened once due to not enough teams registering), but I don't think we even added any to replace it.

In the three years we've been with Aviator, the schedule has never changed. We get it in May and it's the bible for the year. I'm sure it might change if an EP cancelled, but we've never had that experience. The only adjustment I've ever seen is this year when the Atlanta all levels site changed from a two day event to a one day.

my experience with a smaller gym is that it changes a lot.

we set our schedule in May, so the parents know exactly what to expect at tryouts. we very rarely change it.

I've been at a small gym where no joke half the comps were changed. Owner gave a lot of excuses but I think she decided to save money and go to less expensive comps.

2 different gyms in 6 years and I never had a season go by without a minimum of 2 changes.

Ok. Glad to see my expectations ate reasonable. A friends daughter cheers at a gym that is constantly changing the comp schedule and pulling teams last minute. I thought it was nuts but wanted to check around.
