All-Star Cheating In Cheer

The sad truth is many people in this sport don't understand how it's scored (not sure those of us who "get it," get it all the time either). Comments like this I find are generally made by people who have no clue and think just because their stunts stayed in the air means they should've won ... When in reality they had low range difficulty and bad technique and the winning team could've dropped 3 stunts and still outscored them.

That doesn't make it unfair.....it just means they got beat. That's not an easy thing to swallow, especially when you did the best you could and it still wasn't good enough. And it's easier to blame the other team than the coaches who either didn't choreograph you to win, didn't understand how to do that, or didn't structure your team/division to set you up to be successful (I.e. Two layouts doesn't make a successful level 4 team).

I don't know if this is a thread already but how does this work? I am confused. I was at a comp this year and our rival team said we cheated ( which was very rude and un sporty) but can someone please explain how you can cheat. I think I made this too long.

Hey arispur.., I have to tell you straight up, you just allowed this other team to kill your vibe... Have you enjoy this win at all from the competition or have you been scratching your head the whole time wondering... "Okay, how did we cheat?" "We must have cheated, because why are they saying we cheated",,,etc... What you should have said is , "Wow, I am sorry you think we cheated,,, maybe you should have your coaches discussed that with the judges... and as you passing these sore losers, thank that team for being a formidable competitor and give them some advice - "Frankly, why did your make it so easy for us to cheat you, next time you need to stop us from cheating, you know we are a bunch of cheaters"! hahaha

I wasn't wondering why we won but just how they could have thought we cheated. I loved our win and it was my favourite competition. It isn't that I thought we cheated to win but how a team could cheat.

No, I guess my sarcasm was lost in the transcript... I know you are not wondering why you lost, but the sound of your post came off as if you allow these sore losers to taint this win for your team... All I am saying, these are sore losers and instead of congratulating your team, they are griping about the lost... What I was trying to do is, show you another way to handle this type of situation by using sarcasm...

My HS team wore the clean sock buns one year. The one team was so jealous we won and they said our sock buns should be illegal. Unless your team had someone that was not the right age or something blatantly against the rules, and if you still won with whatever it was with the right deductions taken (if there even were any), who cares, they are probably jealous.

Using an overaged/underaged athlete, sandbagging, too many athletes on the mat, too many crossovers, an uncaught legality, and a lot of other things could be considered "cheating" considering who you're talking to.

what is sandbagging?
