Can this poster be blocked- at least from participating in this conversation. BlueCat was kind enough to reach out and she seems like she is still wanting to cause trouble.we are so blessed to have him being open with everyone not only about his program but also as because he offers his perspective as an owner. I would hate to see A personal vendetta by one poster affect that.

I was told they have been addressed by several people and ALL were dismissed. If people actually saw what has been going on and witnessed the things that were going on they would be appalled. But how could anyone know what is going on when the gym is so overcrowded that one team tumbles into the next and people get hurt. Quantity (money $) over quality should never be a businesses first priority. And it's a big business with serious consequences (ie. injuries worse than those in the NFL).

Your message and any damage you are trying to inflict are not effective because of your methods. It is really time to stop and slow your roll. I am sorry for any hurt, negative experiences, or damage you, a friend, or a relative may have encountered. But this behavior is not going to change things. As of now, people are viewing you negatively.

Because of negative things that physically and mentally damaged a child? How is that not a big deal?

This is very contradictory. You're saying they're too money hungry to turn people away on a post where an owner is quite literally saying they are turning people away because they do not have space to accommodate them??

Based on the particular posts you have chosen to quote continuously, I'd take a wild guess that someone may have tumbled into your kid and they got hurt. It's unfortunate, but things happen, even in the greatest and most organized gyms in the country. Even if that's not what you're disgruntled about, keep in mind that programs don't grow to be as large and respected as CA is with poor coaching, facilities, communication, training, and disorganization. Case in point, an owner opening a line of communication here. That doesn't happen in a lot of gyms.

Alas, not every program is a fit; that's why there are lots of options. Especially in Texas. Move on if they aren't for you.

Others have voiced serious concerns only to be silenced. But whatever. If people are cool being injured for life or verbally demeaned or having role models that barely wear clothes (not uniforms but regular clothes) on their cheergrams then great for them. Not the kinda thing most sane people would wish for their children. If it's a legitimate sport then it should be treated as such. Parents having no outside relationships with coaches to avoid favoritism, sport medicine and/or orthopedic doctors reviewing movements and ways of practicing, no pole dancing persona's, no child diva's. That would be a start.

If you want a legitimate voice here to promote positive change in this sport, then perhaps you need to rethink your approach here. Yes, I understand and do agree with concerns over safety in this sport. However, there is a much better way to positively go about getting change here. And many parents and other advocates are working to get change. But they are doing it in a respectful and beneficial way. Ranting and attacking people on a message board does not help make things better or promote change. It makes your target shut down and ignore you.

Also, you have no right whatsoever to slut-shame any athlete. You need to either move on or rethink how you are coming across. Many of these athletes are minors. It is not your business or place to put them down like that.

I hardly think that CA is the only gym, cheer or otherwise, in the area. And I would love to know of any youth sport where sports medicine/orthopedic doctors are reviewing movements and ways of practicing, my kids have done several sports and I've yet to see that...

Unfortunately when you do a sport injuries can and do happen. If it was because of neglect then I hope the proper channels are used but ranting on a message board is not the way to do it. It also is not the way to bring about change. I understand it’s hard as a parent to see your child or even other children get injured. CP was injured her first year of all star cheer due to a freak tumbling accident that left her with a broken arm, then a doctor cleared her WAY to early that resulted in the arm breaking again (her gym questioned her being cleared but CP tumbled anyway because she wanted to and her doctor said it was ok) and requiring surgery to have a temporary rod put in. Then again I once broke my ankle by falling off a sidewalk walking home from the school bus stop. Injuries don’t necessarily mean that a gym or coach is at fault.

Cheer Athletics is a respected program and from what I have seen has been (along with other gyms) working towards bringing change to the industry. While my CP does not attend Cheer Athletics their influence has trickled down to other gyms (what comes to mind is wearing French braids. CP saw one of CA teams last year wearing French braids and has been pushing for her team to do the same because it looks more athletic. Half her team agreed the other half liked the high pony. In response her team for this year has come up with a compromise of no more glitter and flashy make up for any competition and French braids for day 1 of competitions and some one day competitions and the high pony tail for day 2 and other one day competitions.) As others have said slut shaming minor athletes is not ok, and I find it ironic since Cheer Athletics has been moving toward a more athletic look.

Bluecat has also been very open about Cheer Athletics and willing to answer any questions anyone has about the program (hence the thread) and has even asked for you to contact him with your concerns. I don’t understand why you would continue to rant on a message board.

Honey, a kid could literally be wearing paper plates held together with duct tape as a uniform top and I'd STILL be upset if someone refered to a kid in my presence as a pole dancer.

My kid broke his arm at 4 tripping over a cat and required emergency surgery on Easter Sunday. I'm just putting that out there. Kids get hurt just by existing.

I have had the privilege of practicing with my team at the CA gym before a competition. They graciously opened their doors for other teams, not from the area, to practice before a major competition. I would hardly call 6 full floors plus room for a tumble track and more a small facility. There were tons of teams that day, all practicing at the same time and there was never a safety concern. Is it possible that the child was unfortunately in the wrong place at the wrong time?

If your judging a gym based off what athletes and coaches post on their instagrams that you dont agree with, i think you are going to have a hard time finding a gym that doesnt.

First of all, CA is not the only game in town and they know that. You could throw a rock in Plano/DFW and hit at least 10 cheer gyms. Just in that area I can name 3 and that's not even counting some of the smaller ones that have just opened.
Second, you do realize that the gym isn't just that one room up front that used to be the dance studio? There a is giant gym with 6 full floors? I challenge you to name one gym larger than CA in DFW or even Texas.
What your coming across as is a bitter mom whose child got slighted in some way so now you are on a personal rampage to bad mouth the gym. I suggest you take a step back because while it seems the cheer industry is large, it is really small. You have yet to actually substantiate any of your claims. While it's completely possible kids can collide (especially in open gym environments) I highly doubt the coaching staff is ignoring it. If there is one gym that focuses on "perfection before progression" (almost to an insane level), it's CA.
Or you are an athlete that is really salty you lost to a CA team.
