Tiaras? Are you serious? Am I the only one who realizes that when the cheerleading industry gives away tiaras as a "championship prize" that we perpetuate the idea that these ATHLETES are nothing more than glorified pageant princesses who can tumble? Jesus Christ.

Maybe I'm getting sick, but I actually am not hating on this.

Would I take my school team there.... never. We're strictly UCA style, and it wouldn't be worth our time or money to go to an event like this. I would take an allstar team though IF it was local, the dates worked for us, it was well ran, and the pricing was good. I don't love the idea of the winners getting crowns, BUT it's different. In a varsity owns everything world, new comps have to have something to set them a part. The royal gimmick is something a little different and I can appreciate that they're trying to do something new, even if it's not what I would do.

Or maybe I'm getting sick and just need to go to bed and quit today.
