Well Missy, at least you know people are watching, sort of, even if they are little confused on facts. I guess it's better to be pertinent than ignored. Keep them straight now, the long knives are out.

OK.....I had no idea how many girls were added. I was just saying that was the buzz back then.
btw...I was referring to 2010
I had 6 practices a week. 3 for each of my 2 teams I was on.I heard that your teams only practice once a week. Is this true, and if it is, how do you manage to get so much accomplished in a short amount of time?
if you're talking about the white uniforms, they wear those all the time. not just worlds.will small senior be wearing the uniforms they wore at worlds this coming season or was that a worlds only thing?
That question was asked before they started wearing them regularly this season.if you're talking about the white uniforms, they wear those all the time. not just worlds.
No need to look up the picture..lol. For some reason I thought she was talking about 2010. My daughter was on a small jr 5 that year and I just remember hearing about the CEA Jr "super team" and being glad we were small : )You replied to Level5mom's post about it and the year she is talking about is 2011.
I would have to see a picture of the team from 2010 but I'll bet I could tell you how many were added that year too. But, I was team mom for YE so I had my hands full with them, so the specifics of that Jr team aren't fresh in my mind. LOL
I was excited for them. I could tell it was a big deal to them to keep their spots! Mamas were pretty excited too!
We have 98(??) athletes going to worlds and we used 0 crossovers to obtain those bids. Just wanted to put that out there...
Ceacoach you stated "Building a mega team is not tempting. We like to think that we teach more than we assemble". However, did you not have a special "tryout" for your junior 5 team that was going to represent your gym at NCA? I'm not certain about this season, but even athletes and parents from within your program talked about that very thing happening in 2011. I'm not trying to cause drama, just trying to figure out exactly where it is you stand on this particular topic. I'm a little confused because I thought it was widely known and advertised by CEA families that you build a "mega team" for NCA. At least for the junior division anyway.
The year I'm thinking of was when they were small junior coed and they beat us. I believe Cali junior coed won and CEA came in 2nd. We were 3rd. I remember people talking about it all over facebook how they were taking their top 20 athletes from jr. elite and jr. coed elite and making one team for Dallas...Now that I'm remembering, it had to have been 2 years ago so 2010.
Nope, they were small junior coed and it was 2010. Holden was on the team and he's a K'Ville athlete, right? I could definitely have the names of the teams wrong though. I don't really follow them that closely. I just remember that CEA had a small junior 5, a large junior coed 5 and a large junior all girl 5 and they took their best 20 athletes and put them on one team for NCA. I know Holden was on there for sure. The rest of the kids I have no idea. But I had two families specifically from CEA tell me this exact info on the whole "tryout for Dallas" stuff.
I cannot state with certainty that what I said was true as I do not know any of the kids from either location other than Holden (because he's a boy of course) so all I know is people, including some from within CEA, were talking about the whole "Dallas" team and what not. If my memory serves me correctly, it might have even been mentioned on CEA's website within one of the threads on there. I remember being saddened that my CP's team wouldn't have a chance at winning because we wouldn't be able to contend with that type of compilation of kids from all over. I remember being told to go to CEA's website to see it for myself. But what I cannot say for sure is whether there were any other athletes other than Holden who actually were put on the team as a new athlete for NCA. But if that is the case then why call it the "Dallas" team? I guess that's where I would be confused as an outsider...
Thank you for responding. It wasn't a theory though. I heard it directly from the mouths of people from within your program. But I'm glad to know that wasn't the case. Maybe the parents who were telling me about it were mistaken.
Definitely agree! I think it's awesome that some gyms have the ability to stack so many teams from the get-go. Definitely no issue with me there. My only concern was when I heard that the team going to Dallas was made up of the very best athletes from multiple teams specifically for Dallas. If that didn't happen then all is good. :)
I only asked because Ms. Pope made the comment that it is not a practice to stack teams just to win, but I remembered moms FROM your gym telling me about it a couple years back. I was not accusing anyone of anything. I just wanted to get an understanding of where she actually stood on it since her comment seemed to be in direct opposition to what had been told to me happened with your junior teams at NCA. If I hadn't heard this from CEA parents, it wouldn't even be an issue for me. Because I really don't take what other gyms say about other gyms as anything I base my opinions on.
So to be clear...are you saying you absolutely did not have a tryout for your junior 5 kids to form a "Dallas" team for 2010?
lol, didn't mean for it to sound so "authoritative" or "official", lol. I'm just trying to be clear on exactly what we're all saying because this is a very important issue to me.
To be perfectly honest, I only continued reading all of those posts because I was confused as well. Courtney and Msteal both DID explain, i just don't think it was thorough enough for someone who is not in the program or doesn't understand exactly how the gym works, which is exactly the point of this thread! :)Oh really? Could have fooled me...bc it seems like despite it being explained over and over and over and over again..you either A) can't read B) lack general comprehension skills or C) Lying about the bolded part above.
I too recall more than one year when CEA did this with their jr 5 teams (super team for dallas). I will not state exact years, but I will say that it went back to well before 2010. And the facts came from people AT CEA with kids ON those teams. Regardless of what my stance is on excessive crossovers, it's legal. That being said, now that a spade is being called a spade, there is back pedaling and "covering up" and all..
