All-Star Cheer Music Format For All-star Teams?

A lot of teams do their cheer as a voice over now, which i like. It keeps the tradition going, without actually having to stop and mess the whole flow

There are still some teams that say a short cheer with just a beat going on. Almost all of our teams have the cheer voiced over into the routine. But our Tiny and Youth teams are the only ones who actually do motions and say the words. The higher teams are tumbling or in their opening. While there are no points for a cheer specifically, there are still points for motions, and this is a good place to throw them in. I think that's why some teams take the time to do it even though it really isn't necessary

Why would it hurt them?

I don't think saying a cheer would be THAT BAD on the routine, it just seems out of place nowadays

I'm pretty sure @travnation80 is talking about stopping the music and doing a cheer. It would hurt them because there are 0 points awarded for doing that.

Doing a cheer during the routine while doing something else is perfectly acceptable. and wouldn't hurt.

You only get 2 minutes and 20 seconds to max out an entire scoresheet. When you waste a lot of time doing something that isn't even on the scoresheet, it would hurt you. a lot.

Like said earlier people use a cheer with music to do motions. So why couldnt it be the same thing without music?

Had to be Cheersport since I didn't get to go to NCA this year (despite the fact that I work in Dallas every other week). I will be at Worlds, though!

If there is zero points awarded for doing a cheer in allstars...Why is it called the "cheerLEADING Worlds"? Who named it so? Why?

It's named that because all star competition has evolved from traditional sideline cheerleading. It was named by Jeff Webb and Jeff Fowlkes when they founded USASF and the Worlds competition.

So, I've answered your question that you have posted several times so you obviously think the answer is some kind of "gotcha".

Now why don't you tell me why you want to know and what deep, dark secret I've unveiled?
