Old thread revival but ill play:
Over our 8 years in this there have been gyms that have stood out in both the positive and negative. I've got two positives from gyms I haven't seen here even if the experiences were a few years back.
1) jamfest Richmond (probably 2006 or 2007) when we were with gym #1. Even though we were in direct competition the parents and families from Dream Allstars (md) are people I've never forgotten. So nice, genuine and friendly. We absolutely loved hanging out with them. You know they were classy when I remember them specifically this much later. At the time I only had 1cp and she was a mini 2, she's a senior 5 now and I still remember Dream.
2) all levels Atlanta 2 years ago (the last all levels) with gym #2. For the first time in our gyms history we had the unthinkable happen...about 30 seconds in....the music died. That had never happened to our gym before and both my kids were on the floor. I'm not sure who started shouting the counts with the coaches louder, our own parent section or the families from
Florida Top Dog. As a parent who had both kids on that floor it meant a lot that their entire program was trying to help our kids be successful just like we were. Awesome people and we've never forgotten. They shredded vocal chords and high fives just like we did when our team killed it, music or not.
Unfortunately, the bad experiences are equally etched in my brain. Just remember folks that people WILL remember you and the colors you're wearing after its over. You can decide HOW they remember you.
