Okay so I am a junior in highschool and I really want to cheer for UofL. I just don't want it to be a unrealistic goal. I'm from Michigan so being out of state already makes it hard. I want to try out for the all girls team and I'm a base. I'm working on my tuck half and I have a round off spring layout/tuck and toe tuck. All of my skills are perfected and my jumps are inverted. I'm also a really strong bace. I just want to know the tumbling requirements because I'm not sure I'm good enough :/

I don't know much about the requirements (you can check their web site for that, or ask @King ) but I can tell you that being able to fill more than one stunt position will help your placement quite a bit. Also, familiarize yourself with U of L's style (clean, classic NCA with some glitz). Since you have a year left in high school, you should work on getting your full (and cleaning up the technique) and preparing for/attending U of L stunt clinics (these can be expensive). Reading this thread would be a great place to start: Are College Cheerleading Tryouts Political? | Fierce Board - The Voice Of Cheer

I also made a couple of videos pertaining to this topic:

On Gamdeday Skills (EVERY school requires these, no matter what their style is):

It's safe to say that close to all if not all of the U of L girls have a full and a standing two to full. Plenty of people seem to get cut every year with those skills. Louisville is consistently one of the best teams in the country, so your skills have to be the best of the best to make the team. It may not be a requirement, but realistically you'll want to be throwing consistent, clean, advanced level 5 tumbling skills, plus be able to base college level stunts (rewinds, BHS ups, inverts, flipping baskets.)

My #1 suggestion is not to go to a school for cheerleading. If you can imagine yourself LOVING the school even if you don't make the team, then that's a great place for you and cheering will just be the icing on the cake. If you want to go to Louisville just to cheer, then you should also consider other options.

All of this comes from someone who had the exact same skills as you going into college. I cheered in college, but at a school that I loved even before cheerleading became a factor. Competing was just sprinkles.

And base* sorry I had to as well. I read that and cringed. Yes, level 5 skills are a must and level 5 and 6 basing as well. Many of the U of L all-girl ladies also cheer for GT Pink so they all have amazing tumbling and stunt like beasts.
