I'm just afraid that if cheer becomes an official sport we will have a ton of restrictions put on us like seasons, hours of practice allowed. etc....

The issue is whether school cheerleading is recognized as a sport. That will have restrictions placed on it. All-star cheerleading doesn't need any official designation as a "sport"

I know the screenshot came from this article, and I know that people are misinterpreting it. What, exactly, do you want us to do about that?

I still stand by my comment that the discussion about high school cheer was not a tangent since it related directly to your article.

I will never understand why people care so much if others consider what we do a sport....

I have a bunch of friends who don't consider it a sport. I question it myself. As long as they don't doubt the athletic ability, then I don't really care.

yes I do. That was only one point. I'm not going point for point with you on this. I was just stating a concern.
