Is it true that at comps in the states you can't wear your uniform crop top around the grounds and that they are only allowed to be shown in warm up and on stage? Is it because officials see cheer as a family sport? Personally this is a little strange since I compete in open but what do you guys think of this?

I am not sure but i think it´s a rule for a while now (Last season? Please someone help me out).

I think it´s a good thing, because it somehow protects the athletes, especially the younger ones from running around at the venues in these tiny little shorts and tops we call uniforms today, free to be photographed by anyone and everyone.

Our uniforms are not tiny, and i don´t mind our senior teams (15 and older) being in uniform all day, but a rule for everyone to follow is okay. It´s not neccessary to be in uniform all day, is it?

Yep, it started at the beginning of last season. I completely agree with it. Like you said there really is no reason to be walking around in your uniform all day anyway.

You'll have to let me know since I'm Australian and not in a high enough level to compete internationally just yet. I have been told that AASCF (Australian All Star Cheerleading Federation) and a number of coaches will be enforcing it at comps this year as we have quite a number of up and coming worlds standards squads.

I'm an Aussie and I've heard this rule from AASCF too. I have no issue with it personally. I'd prefer to be covered up when I'm not performing. This year is the first year our squads will have a cropped uniform and our gym is enforcing the 'covered up' rule regardless of competition.
