For every other state apart from Texas I don't like it. Texas and country's I like.

Although that may be because I don't know what any state apart from Texas and Cali actually look like...

Totally agree. And I know what the states outlines look like but some just don't work. Like picture Wyoming or Colorado or one of the Dakotas, it would basically just be a square or a rectangle....

Florida works, so does Cali or Texas but other ones not really. Maybe Wisconsin or Michigan (put would you include Upper Michigan??) Plus some people don't really know the states.
