For an All-Star gym to really over price everything? I know that I should not be paying so much for competition fees since I only went to 6 this year and yes one was out of state and I had to stay in a hotel for 3 days which I split a room with 3 other girls and my airfare but I still don't see how my comp fees were almost $2000 like woah! That is just so overpriced.

A lot of gyms will provide you with the breakdown. You can also come up with a ballpark breakdown yourself by visiting the event providers site and checking the costs. Competition entry fees vary greatly, depending on which comps you are attending. And if the $2000 included roundtrip airfare that can also vary greatly (figure $200 - $500 of the costs). I Know that NCA/Dallas 2010 cost my CP ~$300 for 3 night hotel and comp fee and we paid another ~$250-300 for airfare on that one trip. So already a big chunk of money. (We book our own airfare though.) Also as the previous poster said you may be contributing to covering coaches travel costs out of that same fund. Bottom line, you are the customer and if you are concerned you should ask :)

Welcome to All-star cheerleading, and be prepared to empty your pocket book/wallets. Cheerleading cost, if you question your expenditures, you may need to ask your gym for a breakdown of the expense.

what kind of competitions were they (local small events, Jam Fest Nationals, Cheersport etc...) and is your daughter on only one team at the gym? I know we have done comps where registration was $35/ kid and others where $90/ kid and then if you crossover on teams it can be an additional fee. Might be worth asking for a breakdown and maybe a little research on the event producers website to find out what they charge per athlete.

We went to 2 very small competitions that were local. 2 wsf, a state competition, and a acda competition.

were you only paying competition fees or was any of your cp travel included? (buses, planes hotels, meals)
if no than I would go onto each events webpage where it states the price per athelete and add it up. Customarily a gym will add on about 10-20% depending on size to cover travel costs for coaches. If it is way off than I think you need to start gym shopping!!
My daughter is on a level 5 jrcoed team with exstensive travel and we didn't pay that.....(comp fees only)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you said 6 competitions, 1 where u stayed in hotel for 3 nights and airfare?? IF thats the case, including coaches comp fees as well, that doesnt sound to far off....
