Helen, why not do a conditioning programme you can implement yourself so you can be fit and ready if and when you are able to take tumble classes again? Sitting and seeing the negative in every situation will do nothing but make you more miserable. Yes, it is unfair the team you tried out for changed their policy. It's also unfair you live so far away and it's very good of you to not join your university team as you are leaving soon. There is so much, however, that you can do to strengthen you body to prepare for tumbling. It's why gymnasts do so much conditioning. If your back injury is so bad as to not be able to bridge, the impact from landing aerial skills like punch fronts and tucks will be unbearable. Take this time to work on strength, mobility and plyometrics; it will not only make learning new tumbling skills easier, but also prevent further injuries.
