I'm curious if this happens at any gyms and how they do it. I know when our gym was small you pretty much knew everyone and what skills they had. Now it seems that isn't the case.

In gyms, especially bigger ones, do they notice anyone progressing outside the "norm"? Like if someone Goes from BHS to full in a year or if someone has been struggling with gaining new skills for 2 years?

most definitely, at my gym that I coach at we usually tumble every practice or at the least on practice out of the ones we have during the week, some teams in the gym have evaluations to see if they progressed in skills or "lost" their skills.

Susie's Mom knows what EVERYONE has. Certain coaches know what everyone has. But is it "tracked?" Well, not officially.
Ditto this. We don't have charts with gold stars or anything but the people coaching them know what they can throw....

....and if they ever forget, the 4 tabbed, color-coded spreadsheet is located with Suzy's mom for clarification.

Always, even for senior beginners learning a cartwheel its noticed and celebrated!

Lol my old gym did!
Our cheer program shares a gym with a gymnastics training program and they have charts for some of their ore-team, prep-op etc. kids as they're moving through the gymnastic levels. It's cute, they really do it for the younger ones. By the time they're on competition teams they're not doing that anymore that I can see posted anywhere. Even for cheer, for Tinys and minis I actually think that's a good idea for them. Very age appropriate with stars and stickers and a visual of where they are and how they've progressed.

I know the abilities of all the kids on my team and track progress mentally. I coach a J1 so even faster forward rolls are noticed. We are in the process of creating a goal chart for our kids and they will get a prize when they accomplish their goals.

Our sr5 Worlds team was just talking about making a sticker chart to track our level 5 skills...hehe always a child at heart :)

Yeah this was a senior team....

When I did comp gymnastics, for the younger teams (pre-team and level 4), you had a chart with stickers for skills. As you got older, I don't remember if there were 'charts' exactly but everyone knew the skills you needed to move up..

my gym uses a sticker chart per team to track progress, then they have a big sticker chart for the entire team to track the progression a a whole, and which ever team has the most stickers at the end wins a prize
