I was hoping you could now fill us in on the details of the "merger" You seemed pretty in the know when a new location was announced.

Yeahhhh I wish we could say that in California..Over the last year I've learned some valuable lessons. Gyms opening in close proximity to each other don't really affect much when the product is good.
With all that is happening in NC, both what is known and what is not been told publicly yet, the state is experiencing this summer a major earthquake altering the cheer landscape. Don't be surprised at anything else that happens in the state between now and first competitions.
Love columbia - I want my daughter to go to Mizzou... sorry just getting to this thread better late than never.Meanwhile in Missouri...
there's never good drama here :)
Over the last year I've learnesome valuable lessons. Gyms opening in close proximity to each other don't really affect much when the product is good. While some won't believe me when I say this, I wish CEA the best in Concord. What they do and what CAC does are very different things and every kid/parent can make that choice as to what environment is best for them.
The biggest reason I posted on this thread is because some misconceptions have been posted about who merged. Prodigy's location is now CAC, the staff is now CAC, and while kids can choose where they want to cheer, over 150 Prodigy kids tried out at CAC (Concord). Prodigy in no way, shape or form merged with another program and I wish people in general would stop alluding to that. I'm not sure how one former business partner along with a handful of kids implies "merger" but it is misleading at best.
Now back to more exciting news with the Aviator and CAC merger. It was a good day!
I've got one trying out here because he's ready for that and I've got one in CLT because (although she's got level 5 skills) doesn't need to be in kville yet.
Whereas most gyms have their total athlete progression in one building I'm seeing CEAs system of progression as being spread around the satellite gyms, closer to athletes homes with the final goal being Kville's teams.
Just my first impression as a newbie.
Never mind....figured it out when I kept scrolling :DI've got one trying out here because he's ready for that and I've got one in CLT because (although she's got level 5 skills) doesn't need to be in kville yet.

Um....okay. Wow. we haven't met and you clearly don't know me at all if that judgement of my character is your opinion. I'm not belittling anyone as I'm choosing to keep one of my kids in CLT.oops. Posted too early
As a Teal Army member not everyone in a satellite gym considers their team less than the Kville teams. As a new member please do not belittle any program or facility just because for you the holy grail is in Kville. I can assure you CSP counts them all as important. Our worlds team went to Kville to practice with the Elite teams and held their own very well and at no point were ever made to feel as the step child. Just an insiders advice for a new season.

I'm gonna PM you because I'm pretty sure our kids may well be on the same team and I need you to understand that I'm not the kind of mom you think I am.12stepcheermom - My post was not meant as a negative welcome to CEA it was intended as advice for a new comer. I was responding to your comment that generalized athletes in what you call satellite gyms have a final goal of Kville. As your son is going to try to make his dream team my cp achieved hers this year in the 704. She received exceptional coaching from CSP herself and took the mat with her brothers and sisters at World's. Winning or losing was never the end all. Taking the mat in Dallas- winning a Paid bid in DC, the look on her face was better than on any Christmas morning. The tears the team shared together - these are things she never imagined she would be a part of and things she will forever remember. All of this came because of the 704 and the shear believe of CSP. I just want you to know all of this can be yours too if you can feel the same pride as we do in CLT. We have many athletes that want to stay right where they are as they believe the magic can happen again. We strongly support all of our teal brothers and sisters in every location. We welcome all with an open heart and only ask that yours be as open and dedicated as ours. Remember for us the motto for the 704 is "don't get it wrong this where you belong". I truly hope you feel as if you can find a home with us too.
Saying that part of the gym went one way & one part another isn't totally accurate. There's definitely a bigger story there, all of which happened well before these "mergers". It will be interesting to see what happens with it. Because of the circumstances and people/gyms involved it definitely creates some drama! It is a pretty complex situation, to be honest, and one that seems to remain fluid... Not set in stone either way right now. The merger is complicated, since equipment/building/kids all seem to be in transition to either CEA or CAC right now. The kids basically chose between the two, and the building/equipment/staff issue is even more complex. And please don't post another link to CACs website, I understand they posted about the acquisition of Prodigy. We have seen the link multiple times now. What I am telling you is that part of the gym went one way, part another. I know some will say I am crazy or lying, but it is simply the truth. Lets just all wait until the dust settles and tryouts are complete before we make a definitive statement. I literally cannot tell any more than that, because like I said, the situation has changed some.
