Would need @Andre to confirm this but-
Even if it were to land at an extension i think it would be legal, but I can't find a specific rule saying it's ok.

Here's the reasoning-
At level 3 you can have up to 1 twist while double braced and released. Essentially everything you can do double braced at 3 you can do single braced at 4.

However that was a clarification added in October and maybe a similar clarification is needed at 4

Reason 2-
Pyramids must follow Level 4 “Stunts” and “Dismounts” rules and are allowed up to 2 high.
Exception: Twisting mounts and transitions to a single leg extended stunt are allowed up to 1 twist, if connected to a brace at prep level or below. The connection must be made prior to the initiation of the skill and must remain in contact throughout the skill.

You are allowed to twist all the way up to a skill being single braced and you can release all the way to the top and there is no language saying that you can't twist while released in a pyramid. So it stands to reason that you could do it.

But again this is just my opinion

just to add to all the names, my gym calls it a crunch or a load in. but when our choreographers are there it's a smush

i always have used squish. never smush. smush is what they do on the jersey shore in the smush room. not in cheerleading.

As long as we're hitting our Jersey Shore slang, can we start calling those "special" kids we all know grenades instead of nuggets on the back of the floor?

Yep, nothing mean intended about athletes that are needs- HATS OFF TO THEM. :) I was referring to the kids that don't EVER seem to understand what the heck is going on at practice- happy there are no nuggets/grenades on my teams this year!

hahah grenades thats cute lol im going to remember that for a long time hahaha

I'm not hating, I am just looking to see how something is legal cuz i thought it was really creative.

thats C4 level four at about 2:13 they bases release her as she is braced and is twisting.

in stunting its said that u cant release and twist, and for pyramids it says that all stunt rules apply to pyramids besides exceptions which i couldn't find. I am just trying to figure it out... so please let me know lol

Well she does not flip or spin at all actually, if you watch her her head never travels below her waist at any point and her body never spins, she stays stationary and attached to the girl in the elevator the whole time and the girl in the elevator makes a circle with her arms to rotate her, we did this last year on Senior Open 5, but I also believe it to be totally legal for level 4.

We call it a squish at Fame. I've heard scrunch, smush, load in, but my favorite of all time would have be when I have heard it called a Car!

I agree. I think I remember seeing a clarification earlier in the season as well but could not find it. I have always taken twisting mounts and release moves to be two separate things. To me twisting mount means at least one foot stays in the bases hands the whole time. For example you can do a full up to extension (twisting mount) you can do switch up to extended (release move) but you cannot do a full twisting ball up to extension because it is a combination of both. Not disagreeing with your post at, just throwing my take on it out there too.

I'm more confused by Georgia's Level 4 pyramid when they clearly are inverted with one brace.

I would rule this as legal, she isn't twisting so they are following all the rules.
