Obviously we have noticed a bajillion and one fake accounts for many "cheerlebrities" out there and it's often tough to tell which are fake. First off, you CAN NOT believe everything you see out on the internet. Hopefully, everyone is taught that in school. Pay attention to the little details to determine whether or not things are real. Most importantly, if you find a fake account, REPORT IT.

If you find any fake accounts, post them here so we all know. And it's not even just the totally famous cheerleaders that have fakes. Some girls you may not know much about also have "fan" pages. Imagine how these girls feel having people stalking their lives and pretending to be them. We can help all of them out by reporting them to try to get rid of them all!

I just said this in the 2x2 thread, but I think this is very disturbing. You have to be pretty sad to pretend that you're someone you're not.

You must have A LOT of time on your hands to maintain a fake profile for someone else, having to sort through all sorts of pictures and information to put on the page. It's pathetic really.

I sent her a message on facebook during worlds weekend (she had her facebook link on her twitter) telling her that I don't think the athletes, coaches, or parents of CEA would appreciate her pretending to be a member of their team when she was bashing the other large senior teams that weekend and that people know she is lying and linked her to the fierceboard. She took the link off of her twitter, never replied to me, and deleted several of her twitter posts about other teams but continued to pretend to be a member of the team. Now she has posted that she tried out for her high school team and made JV so maybe she has dropped the CEA thing but at one time she was pretending to be a member.

I think the fakes of athletes and even 95% of the facebook groups for these athletes are creepy seeing as how these athletes are underage. If I were their parents I would be scared to death to let them walk around at competitions alone.

I agree with everyone above me. I remember on chat when we found that fake Molly that was saying things that could really hurt the reputation of the team, gym, and the girl. If you find an athlete on twitter you can easily tell if they are real if another athlete is following them that you know is real. Like Juliet or Alexis on SE.

It'd probably be best if their real accounts weren't posted. These girls aren't public servants, they aren't celebrities, they're just cheerleaders and I can't speak for them personally, but I can assume that they'd appreciate not having their facebook accounts posted on a public forum...

That is true. But it'd be nice to have some way to just have one solid account we can count on and not have to worry about weeding out the fake ones. You know there is one and the rest are fake. No second guesses.

I often ask myself why people who have never in their life met or talked to these athletes feel the need to have them as a facebook friend. Facebook should be for your personal friends and family. If you do not know them personally then I would ask what is the point of having them as a facebook friend? They do deserve to have a private life believe it or not.

I've heard from multiple people that Erica does not have a formspring, so be careful about that one too.

I feel awful for this girl! Also, even if any of these people say they are only fan pages, they are still stealing photos and information from the real page, so report them!

Another good way to tell if the account is real (facebook) is if the person is friends with the owners of the gym. Like Erica E being friends with Courtney and Ben.

I've also noticed some of them are friends with fakes, but thats a good start.

This is so creepy..I don't know how to phrase it any other way. I may come off as a jerk, but why? These girls aren't singers, actresses, movie stars- they're just normal girls who are good at what they do. Obviously they have huge fan followings, but we're all just cheerleaders. I feel so bad for them, just from participating in a high profile team, you have legitimate stalkers. The worst is fake twitters..these people are impersonating someone all.day.long. It's just sad.

This is extremely creepy....Nor I or my daughter are friends with any of the "Erica's", but as a mom, I would be/am extremely upset! Those are all personal pictures of a minor! You can tell that in some of them, she is in front of a house, in her room/bathroom and the worse one to me is the one in bathing suit! I have pictures of my daughter in her swim suit & some of them are on facebook, but if someone was taking my pictures of my minor daughter and then posting them as their own, I would flip out and press charges! This is identify theft....I hope all of these will be reported & deleted!
