It's easy to tell who the real ones are. Ones with real SE friends, in relationships with those who their supposed to be with etc. Honestly, I wouldn't friend these people anyways. I don't personally know them. If I were this kids I'd be super pissed off to get constant FRs from complete strangers with "I love you Erica!!!!" messages. Creepy... Signing on to SE, Cali, F5 or any other does not mean these kids are ready to be public figures. It means they're ready to be level 5 cheerleaders. It bothers me even more that these are fellow cheerleaders doing this. No one outside of the cheer world knows who Erica Englebert or Maddie Gardner or Kiara Knowlin or Whitney Love is. These are our own. Disgraceful...

That Amanda Powell girl on Twitter that pretended to be a member of CEA Sr Elite this past season

www.twitter.com/amanduhhpowell

I sent her a message on facebook during worlds weekend (she had her facebook link on her twitter) telling her that I don't think the athletes, coaches, or parents of CEA would appreciate her pretending to be a member of their team when she was bashing the other large senior teams that weekend and that people know she is lying and linked her to the fierceboard. She took the link off of her twitter, never replied to me, and deleted several of her twitter posts about other teams but continued to pretend to be a member of the team. Now she has posted that she tried out for her high school team and made JV so maybe she has dropped the CEA thing but at one time she was pretending to be a member.

I think the fakes of athletes and even 95% of the facebook groups for these athletes are creepy seeing as how these athletes are underage. If I were their parents I would be scared to death to let them walk around at competitions alone.

Ha I followed that girl for like a month and it would crack me up everytime i saw a new post about "her team". hahahahahaha she deff made me laugh a couple times :D

I DONT EVEN WANNA GET STARTED ABOUT "amanduuhh powell, center fly on senior elite"

Quoting a post from a different thread:

mmm don't know if they're still around since they blocked me once they knew i figured out it was a poser  but there was a really bad poser that was running a poser erica, sandy, daniel, gabie, etc. soo when they all wrote on each others walls it looked real & it said erica & daniel were in a relationship i swear some people dedicate their lives to this stuff

I keep seeing people saying "Well you can tell if it's the real person if they're friends with this person or if they're in a relationship with so and so" and I wondered if people were making fake profile for those, too. If you saw the movie 'Catfish', you know that someone can very easily create an entire world of people to make themselves seem legitimate. At the same time, why does everyone even need to know who these girls' parents and boyfriends are? I understand that they are INCREDIBLE athletes on high profile teams and they've done other things to publicize themselves, but the bottom line is that they're normal girls who are doing the same thing as the rest of us. Maybe if these people who are making fake profiles put half the energy they waste creating a fantasy world for themselves into being driven and working on their skills, they could actually have the attention for themselves instead of leeching off someone else's 'cheer fame'.

thats SICKENING!

This is something that really shouldn't be taken lightly. Please pass along to anyone that can help us stop this, or at least as much of it as we can!

Please, particularly on facebook, we as a board can do a LOT of damage in terms of 'reporting' identity theft. Next thing, Kristen and Victor from TG are gonna have to do a PSA about 'Internet Safety and Identity Theft.' Let's do our best to take care of that before it gets that bad, shall we? Parents- monitor your kids internet/video chat. I could post the video of that girl I mentioned in the '2by2' thread, but I don't know if she needs more trauma than she had..it IS, however, a perfect example of why you shouldn't allow the internet to babysit your 11 year old daughter..

I personally haven't heard that Erica's mom is pressing charges, but I'd say this has some illegalities to it somehow.
yes! i heard that ericas mom is pressing charges if the accoundt arent deleted by june something they poser will get a warning and if they dont delete or something they will be tracked down! a lot of people like have stopped using their fake twitters or dont go on! but erica DOES have a twitter, I asked her at a comp. she doesnt use it! ...rarely

It may be illegal if they're committing slander but if the images are placed in a public venue, I don't know what you can do. I'm not a lawyer, so what do I know? You sure this didn't come from another faker?

with the charges? nope, 100% sure.

Side note- when looking for fake Maddies, I noticed a LOT of really young kids (most looked under 10 at least) named Maddie with facebook pages. They were all private, but I was really confused. Is it becoming some weird common thing for parents to give their kids facebook profiles? I mean, I know you USED to need a college/HS email address or SOMEONE older to verify you were over 13. Is that not the case anymore?

I just had a 10 year old neighbor request me on facebook an hour ago. There is also an 8 year old with an account my in extended family. I find it very disconcerting.

And no, facebook is entirely open now. You don't need anything to join. You don't even have to be a member of a network.
