The answer to this question would (in my eyes) depend on how maxed out I was in tumbling.

If we were still in need of strong tumblers to hit the scoresheet, then A.

If we are strong on tumbling and I can add some specialist type kids in who maybe do not have the tumbling, then C.
The problem with girl c is that she isn't age eligible to be on a senior team if she is 9.

I feel like sometimes, though younger girls can't handle the pressure of flying on a higher level team. I'm not speaking for your CP because I don't know her but I've found that a lot of the time, just sticking little girls on higher level teams because they can tumble doesn't mean they'll be ready for the stunts, and high pressure of a l5 or even l4 team sometimes.

With good coaches and a positive gym environment kids can handle more pressure than you think. I have noticed if you have a gym owner that constantly hypes the higher level teams and importance of perfection and 0 mistakes or a kid will be cut then yes, kids are more likely to not handle the pressure. It adds to a total gym environment.

Knew a kid years ago who puked on stage at every competition. Went to a different gym that had a more positive vibe and the puking stopped. Maybe a coincidence but I doubt it.

This thread has me:deadhorse:and :banghead:. So.much.arguing and I'm trying to figure out what all the fuss is about. Coaches put the best flyers in the air and the best bases on the ground. I hardly think they look at stats and bring measuring tapes and scales to the gym when making their position selections, but generally speaking, the smaller you are the better the odds are that you are going to be a flyer and the bigger you are, the better the odds are that you will be a base or backspot. It really is that simple!

Stop being logical

**Does size matter for a base?**

Holy crap.

@Jonathan Brouillette may I ask why you disliked my post that said 'zombie thread'? You bumped a five year old dead thread. It wasn't personal, just a comment that the thread is really old.

My issue is when the young ones are crossovers to a senior team. Their main team is a jr but crossover to senior. My 16 yr old is small for her age 5ft and 100lbs no reason she couldn't fly.

How do you determine which team is the main team?

they were placed on a jr team after tryouts then a few weeks after practices started they were brought in on the Sr team. So their main team is the jr and they crossover to the Sr.

Fair enough.

Unless the gym is one to cave to what parents or kids want, there has to be a legit reason they were crossed over after several weeks of practice. Something wasn't working on the team and there was a need for them. I dint know why a gym would do that other than to make a team better able to be competitive.
