(Warning: This may be a dumb question.) Do German teams really count in English while practicing? I was surprised to hear "five, six, seven, eight" instead of "fünf, sechs, sieben,
acht" (thanks, Google Translate).

In slovenia we always count in slovenian lanuage? pet šest sedem osem :)

Beth Docker: Where are you moving too?

I'm moving to Giessen to finish off my Uni degree at Justus-Leibig Universitat. I'd also like to get my German fluent :) It's about an hour south of Frankfurt, and I'll be there til Feb 2013.

I'm leaving behind the cheer program I run here in Aus though so that's gonna be tough. I've been considering cheering over there but all the good teams seem to be quite a commute away (around 1.5 - 2hrs), and since they tend to train like 3-4 days a week (which I think is SO much!) I'm not sure if that's manageable.

There is a team in Gießen (Gießen Tornado Cheer, AllGirl, Lvl 6) that placed 3rd at Nationals in March (and qualified for the European Championship). I could give you some contact info if you'd like to.
Oh, and if you'd like to travel Germany - feel free to contact the german fierceboarders - I'm sure they'd be glad to show you around where they live (at least I'd like to do that).

That all sounds so cool! I'll PM you to discuss more so I don't hijack this thread ;)
