All-Star Getting Released...who Has Tried?

in addition to the athletes in indiana, there was the new jersey gyms situation. this athlete was not granted a release which left not one but two teams scrambling to find eligible athletes to replaces the others.

I agree with kristenthegreat I'd like to see official numbers of athletes who needed a release last season. We can all name 2-3 situations from last season because athletes were not released, so there was quite a bit of commotion. However, we have no idea how many gyms amicably granted releases to athletes without conflict or public knowledge. I know there is not record or way to find numbers, but i'd be curious to find out.

I would be super interested in this as well just to see the ratio of signed releases to nonsigned. I know that I mentioned it in the other thread and won't go into detail in this one but the fact that there is no record is not good on the USASF's part when it comes to this rule.

ZTA, I totally agree with you, I do think there needs to be some sort of record kept by them to ensure that this rule is being used in the right way.

I know our coach released a couple of people last year, #1 because his team didn't get a bid. #2 they finished their season and #3 they had their accounts in order.

And this is why people dont call Cheerleading a SPORT........

^^That should actually be...
UA got 2 people released to us because of the ICC situation.
ICE released 1 to UA
UA releasted 1 to ICE
(I think) UA released 1 to Famous

Spirit of Texas released an athlete to Cheer Athletics.

what exactly is the incident from last season that ya'll are talking about..? I'm sure ya'll have discussed it a countless number of times but i am completely clueless.. sorry for the trouble..

My daughter was released last year. Account was paid and the rule had come out after she had already left. Her old gyms regular season was over. It took awhile but it happened.

If everyone is refering to the incident which I think they are, very simplified; athlete left gym A for gym B mid season and gym A wouldn't sign their release so they couldn't compete at worlds.

I will add on so it makes since why it got so much attention without mentioning names.
Athlete left Gym A for Gym B mid season (i believe it was decently early in the season).
Gym B put athlete on worlds team and the athlete competed with the team and they won a bid. Gym A had already gone on with their teams like it was no big deal.
As it got closer to worlds (pretty dang close) it was learned that Gym A refused to sign the release for then athlete to compete at worlds with Gym B.
Facebook group was started to gain attention to it and it did no good because the athlete still couldn't compete at worlds.

In the end I have no idea how bad this hurt the rep of Gym A but it was a sticky and shady situation.
