what are exactly the divisions for co-ed stunting? My cp is 13 and wants to do a competiton, but she only stunts with her coach - that is in college. Do they have any divisions for that? We have no boys on our teams.

Yeah they do, co-ed stunts compete youth, junior, or senior. I dont know about a girl with an over-18 year old...

The backspot in the Butterfly video lives at my house. LOL She is in a stunt group again this year with the blonde flyer. They will compete Jr's this year. Fab 4. Y'all look out for them!!!

Blonde flyer in Butterflies and 2nd flyer in Mini X are sisters! They are amazing!
lol skylar and maddie. love them. if you guys don't know who they are, go look up their video on 2by2. Used to cheer with Skylar. (:

Keep in mind that these are the best of the best. Your kid could be in a group thats not this good and still win:)

Yeah, I didn't realize how advanced it all gets. My daughter is really flexible and tight. So, she can pull these positions, but she doesn't have any experience with the fancy double flipping, etc. in the air. And I have no idea how difficult and long it takes to learn those advanced skills.

last year i did a partner stunt routine and i really enjoyed it

I for one would like to see more programs with stunt groups competing! I know Spirit Sport's Battle At The Beach usually has a good amount of stunt groups and individuals enter!! Its been my experience that with the right group of dedicated kids, anything is possible with practice!! I've seen groups made up of completely level 5 athletes and others made up of a mix of kids from various levels. These types of smaller competitions allow for individuals to improve on their stunting while building technique, strength, and stamina!! As a coach, if I had kids that could stunt nonstop for a minute and a half, I would have way more faith in their building skills in their team routine!!!

My coach learnt all her high level stunting working with her allgirl stunt quad that stayed together for four years. She encourages all her teams to work individuals if they can because it pushes the girls to gain higher level stunt skills, work autonomously and creatively with what they have learnt, set their own goals for what they want to achieve, and really be cheerleaders that can think through a stunt rather than just doing what they're told in choreo. It also breaks up the monotony of routine work during comp season. Esp for those who don't have a big role in the routine, it gives them a chance to still work on their skills. For the girls who don't get to fly baskets, or main base elite sequences, if they don't keep working on it outside training they'll never get the chance to prove to themselves and others they can do it. It really shows a coach who's willing to work the extra bit and they remember these things going into the next season.

My season has been so enriched by flying a coed partner stunt individual, I can't even begin to tell you how awesome it feels to be out there with your team cheering you on. If your cp has the opportunity to do it, definitely take it on!
