ugh thank god. kyla's neat bun is just so much prettier. i get having too long of hair for a ponytail, but they look atrocious.

Kyla Ross committed this same offense. I don't know who made the decision or why but they aren't allowed to wear their gymnast buns anymore.

According to Tumblr, Carlotta Ferlito has apparently been saying some nasty things about the American gymnasts (mainly Simone) and some racist comments towards Simone? I get you're upset, but she's been saying is just uncalled for.

If this is true...and it was translated correctly she said ""Next time, me and Vanessa would paint their skin black to win."

you're right, i forgot about that. her pretty hair this weekend made me forget. thank you marta (or whoever made that decision - though i imagine marta yelling at them in her accent because they look ridiculous :) )

That picture will never not be hilarious to me.

Speaking of that one. She needs to like stop posting "I'm not trying to be sensual but look how sensual I think I'm being" selfies on instagram. Its like okay girl, you got your weave right. Great....but could you either get in the gym and try to get ready for 2016 (don't think she will)....or take all of the coins you earned and skip on off to college.

I know shes training out in LA now.... but girl...

I don't think she will either. And I don't really blame her. You can't really beat an all around gold, might as well go out on top. I don't think Weiber or Raisman will be back either. Jordyn just enrolled in college at UCLA and Aly's doin her own thing and went on Dancing With the Stars and whatnot. They've all already earned their place in gymnastics history. Doesn't mean I don't want them to return, I just am not sure it will happen. Or I could see them pulling a Nastia/Alicia Sacramone and training only on their best events right before the next Olympics.

I don't think she will either. And I don't really blame her. You can't really beat an all around gold, might as well go out on top. I don't think Weiber or Raisman will be back either. I don't think Jordyn and Aly will be around for 2016. I remember reading an article about their physique and amount of muscle they already had and how physically for their bodies it would not realistic. I personally appreciate older gymnasts stepping aside and letting the younger ones carry the torch. I don't really enjoy the after the fact comeback....It makes me sad (I loved Shawn Johnson but it was sad to watch her go thru all of that for a last minute bid for London) I loved Dominique Dawes but gone are the days of a gymnast being in 2 or 3 Olympics

I think if Gabby doesn't go for 2016 it will be because she will (secretly) feel like she wont be able to re-accomplish what shes already accomplished. She'd only be 20? She's tiny and I don't forsee her having any sort of growth spurt that would physically stall her gymnastics. But I still think shes going to "train" a little while longer. I still (for other reasons) want her to go to college.

I actually think Simone (or Katelyn Ohashi especially) won't be around for 2016. She gives me Ivana Hong, Mattie Larsen etc vibes. They just peak at the wrong time

McKayla I feel like will be back to try to be a vaulting specialist and honestly if she gets that half twist into is Amanar they'd be dumb not to take her if they can stack the team with other people.

Also. Can we send someone down to the DR to rescue Yaminilet Pena....she needs to train that vault up here in the States....

However, I am ready for Lauren Hernandez to bump to senior and kill it. Yes please. She got third at the junior worlds, and she is just unreal power. She is what I think Simone kinda is, but she's better at it somehow if that makes sense.

-Mustafina's leo is so pretty, can I have the dress version of that?
-So many rhinestones, I wonder how much it cost.
-Was Carlotta Ferlito trying to match her elementary school girl hair clips to her leo? If so then she did a good job, but neutral colored ones would have done the same job and looked more professorial, IMO.

I get so sad watching her attempt that same vault over and over again at big events and always sit it down. With some better training she could probably land it. She was much closer here than in the Olympic finals.

Did anyone else think the Korean chick who got bronze on vault was WAY over scored? Yes they were hard vaults but she had poor form and her landings were sloppy. I kind if wish Steingruber would have gotten the bronze. She had a great Worlds.

Just read that the girl from the Netherlands who got injured on vault tore her ACL and and a small meniscus tear. Good luck to her on the road to recovery! Speaking of ACLs I'm so glad John Orozco is back so soon after his ACL tear and even medaled on P bars!

Is their a science behind which years Worlds has a team competition? I know the years after Olympics are mostly just individual but I was wondering when the next team competition would be.

I don't even care if those 3 don't come back. I'm over Aly and Jordan (ok, I was over them at the Olympics-I admit it). Love Gabby, but totally agree that she can't do better, and I don't blame her. This. A thousand times this. She's my favorite "up and comer" I think. So excited to see her future. Bailie Key is a good little thing too, I just like Hernandez' personality and gymnastics style more.

Is their a science behind which years Worlds has a team competition? I know the years after Olympics are mostly just individual but I was wondering when the next team competition would be.

Next year will be a team comp. They started the individual thing 2 Olympics ago I think. First Worlds of the new Olympics cycle is individual, next 2 years are team.
