All-Star Half-year Teams

I haven't heard of any rule about teams having to go into a prep division if they start late. There would probably be lots of grumpy people in Illinois if this were true... we have lots of half season teams because of our high school rules, and a lot of those teams go for (and receive) Worlds bids.
I think I was confusing a rec v prep division.

We used to form mid-season exhibition teams until the prep division became real. Teams can still just exhibition at competitions but they don't get anything for performing. Also, a lot of programs have mid-season competition teams that compete in normal all-star divisions. The rules just stop normal season kids from crossing into a prep division.

Does anyone know how many half-year (just all-star prep) teams that some of the bigger gyms are forming this year? I know that both Stingrays locations have a history of forming a ton of prep teams because I almost cheered there.

I do know Brandon also does half-year teams as well.

We aren't a big gym by the standards of the people in the cheer world but we have well over 150 kids on full year teams, and we have a show team for the littles.

But Stars Vipers of Schertz Tx, has two prep teams. One that's a large Senior 3, and a small Junior 2. I'm not sure of what gyms have them because I know some have and are doing tryouts as of recent. Ours have been created for quite a while though.

I'm really not sure if my gym is considered a "big gym" even though we have A LOT of teams, we don't have "cheerleberties", and we aren't well known

But anyway we wouldn't compete against y'all anyway because were in atlanta and only have a S1 and S2 team :-)

Lol well good luck to yall! We don't have cheerlebs either so I didn't know if you really cared that we had a prep team, but since you asked I figure I could give you some feedback!! I hope others answer as well!

When CP started she started on a half-year team because it was their first introduction to having a Mini age group. I just got a flyer for Extreme All-Stars (better known on the dance side I think) in Melbourne, FL and will be allowing CP to join it until next season's try outs. We moved after the cut offs to join a full season team so it's the next best thing.
Orange and purple?

Yes, those are their colors. I believe they do a Sr. Purple and a Sr. Orange and they do have a LVL 5 team now but I don't know which category.
LOL we competed against them in 2006 and 2007. Sooo long ago.
