Prayers for you both. I've known both sides. My father was killed in Vietnam when I was five and my son just came home a few weeks ago after his enlistment with the Marines and a tour in Afghanistan.
Thank goodness he came home safe :) unfortunately a family friend of ours chose to spend his fathers day in Arlington with his 21 year old son. He was not thrilled that his son chose to follow in his own footsteps and become a marine, but sometimes its just in your soul, it was in his. It's been just over a year (june 9, 2011) since he became a guardian angel for the rest of his team in Afghanistan.

I always say lots of prayers for those serving and their families. I feel like I'm on borrowed time with my own son. Service is most definitely in his soul and nothing will talk him out of it. I guess what I learned from that marine is to cherish every single second. They had 21 phenomenal years with a wonderful son that they can hold onto and remember until they meet again. <3 in the end, that's what's most important.

We took my dad out to eat! My little sister talked me and my other sister into coming up with a father's day cheer routine for him so We performed that. She'll give any reason to fly and tumble lol :P
