So, I've been working on a full for a couple months, but I feel like no matter what I try I can only twist half way around, sometimes 3/4ths. Any suggestions on how to make it all the way around?

Thanks!

I had trouble when I was learning to twist too. I would get "stuck". I was a gymnast and was taught to "Set. Elbow. Rainbow." (meaning set for the layout, pull your elbow on your twisting side, then pull the other arm over like a rainbow). I would still get stuck. It finally clicked with me when I realized that initiating the twist with my head and shoulders just wouldn't work for me (everyone said "look over your shoulder and your body will follow"...wasn't happening)! So I started keeping hollow and twisting with my hips and THAT worked, for me. It's worth giving it a try and seeing what happens.

what made me start to twist on my own & make it all the way around was for 1 thing changing my "pull" a little. instead of the general pull you're taught to do fulls with my coach & i found that if i got my elbow (i twist left so left elbow) back more as if you're holding a football if that makes any sense lol i spun faster. als0 once i learned i had to pull with my arms, look over my shoulder, & pull my hips up at the SAME time i got my full. i had been doing them each a little off timing once i got the timing right i got it.
