My high school's colors have actually changed shades througout the years. When my older cousins were in school everything was black and gold (think old gold like world cup) and then when I was in high school we used black and yellow (still called it gold but it was more of a top gun yellow). Some of the other sports teams have continued use of the yellow but from facebook pictures it seems many are going back to the old gold, which I actually prefer.

In middle school we were Red, White and Silver.
