There really aren't any rules for this. If you can picture team doing a dance to it, it's mix-worthy.

I go on a YouTube search and jump into the black hole. Basically, search music you like, then keep clicking suggested songs until you find something you love but have never heard of.

But how do you know it will work? I think music selection is even lower than choreography on my list of things I like to do. LOL

If it makes me want to dance, it will work. If I can picture choreography to it, I use it.

Also try to jump back a few decades, and look at foreign music.

Look into musicals, too. Performances from past Tony Awards are a good place to start.
