First situation... how do judges score routine if cheerleader has to leave the floor because she is vomitting? Team continues and just marks stunt.

Second situation.. team having some serious routine issues. I *think* team stopped THEN music stopped. They reset and started over --- after about a minute. So really don't think it was wrong music. Seemed like I remember a discussion about that topic in the past.

I am certainly NOT trying to call out any person/team. I am honestly just curious.

At worlds, the 'new' rule (I don't know if it's new exactly, but I just actually noticed it this time)- if for any reason your music stops, you must do the whole routine again and will be scored accordingly, no marking up to where the music stopped: full out again. Which SUCKS, 'cause depending on where you stopped the music, that's the whole routine again..

It does stink to start over from the beginning but I remember a time when a team in our division had to go again (I don't remember why) and they marked the first half or so of the routine and picked up after running tumbling. By the time they started the routine again they weren't out of breath or breathing hard like they were the first time through and just breezed through the pyramid and the dance. I don't see a good answer though because its also not fair to have to re-do stunts that already hit and take a chance of them falling.

I think in the case of the girl running off and puking, it would be judged as if the stunt didn't even go up. Ex) attempted full up or something.

My junior year we had a girl get kicked off the night before a comp (don't do drugs ya'll) and we had to mark all her stunts at the competition. It was so embarrassing. I believe that we got deductions for every stunt of hers that didn't go up.

1. We normally only score skills performed, ignoring any circumstances that led a skill to not be performed.

2. Depends on the EP.

My team had one quick basket toss section and the dance left when a guy tore his ACL landing a double full last year. We were told the judges would understand that there were certain things we couldn't do, but we had to make an effort to do everything we could. We had to replace him in the whole routine and compete it again. It sucked. A lot.

Thank you. I can see the point of not penalizing team; however, I can also see the other side that there is the potential that stunt could have not gone up/fallen resulting in a penalty. So just really wasn't sure what would be more fair.. to NOT score it all or give a deduction. Not really a "right" or wrong answer.

A couple years ago I was on a team where a girl had tore a ligament in her ankle during the routine, the music stopped so we kept on going but we were told to stop. NCA was VERY generous giving us twenty minutes to get a fill in and rehearse. We marked everything up until when girl was hurt then we went full out. I can you tell it was SO scary going back there a second time and marking everything; I can't imagine what it would be like going full out and being judged the second time.
