hey!
I was wondering for gyms that have multiple level 5 teams how they decide which girls should cheer on coed and which go on all girl thanks!

Partly it's a result of the yearly auditions. Every team has several roles that need to be filled and the coaches have to find the right people for those roles.

It also has to do with money. The girls on the coed teams pay much more than the girls on the AG teams. Some girls don't want to pay the difference and prefer to stay AG.

I would say that varies by gym and is not a rule across the board

OK, so, money aside....how do they pick? Like if you have 2 girls that are great tumblers and both are bases. How would you decide which girl goes on which team? Like these gyms with 3+ Level 5 teams...how do you decide if someone is going on coed, all girl large, or all girl small???

I was actually wondering the same thing the other day. I just thought it was semi at random. It seems like there is a different feel for all 3 divisions. Small senior is just a bunch of fierce girls, large senior is a butt load of talent, and coed seems like the girls who can keep up with the boys (I mean c'mon, these boys are beast now a days). I'm not saying I'm right or anything or researched it, that's just how it seems when I watch routines.

Sorry, I should have specified that this is for ACE.

It's perfectly fair, because it's all disclosed up front.

but what is the reasoning behind the extra cost? Do you go to more competitions? Does the coed team practice more?

Because the guys are charged less and the girls pay the difference. It's been that way as long as we've been at ACE. And as much as people want to criticize about "fairness" blah, blah, it's how Happy has been able to consistently recruit guys and support coed teams year after year.

and if everyone knows ahead and are ok with it ..not a problem. I'm sure it does make getting guys a lot easier and I'm sure the guys are more loyal too.

That's a good idea. I don't know what my gym charges guys but it would be really effective in getting guys to cheer!

i was wondering that too! like worlds cup has odyssey, suns, and stars... if stars is the "top team", then why are there people who are on suns that are better than some of the stars? (assuming not everyone on stars has a trick to a double and some suns do) ??
