Here's the scoresheet, it's the same for all cheer divisions:
http://www.cheerunion.org/aspnet_cl...ents/WCC/ICU_Scoresheet_WCC-CheerDivision.pdf
Tumbling is focused on group tumbling, difficulty, execution, and synchronization. And since USA coed has everyone but I think 4 guys in the back doing very well executed 2 to fulls, there's really no reason to add in a running tumbling section. The scoresheet is super weighted on stunting which is why they have I think 3 pyramid sections and at least 2 partner stunts.
In terms of dance, since it falls under "overall presentation, crowd appeal, and dance" for 10 points, I don't know whether a dance is optional or they decided they'd rather take the hit and focus more on stunts.
The division's were Novice, Intermediate and Advanced.
For all star, that's very often true. It's not because level 6 is easier, just that there are far more talented athletes competing in all star level 5 than all star open level 6. You have to be 17+ to compete level 6 in all star. At that point, the all star athlete pool becomes limited because most of the talented athletes...Many times in this forum, I have read that Level 5 is sometimes, (if not most of the time), better than Level 6, yet in ICU, this doesn't seem to be the case. It's enough to make your head swim!

1. Went off to college
2. Can't afford to cheer now that their parents aren't paying
3. Have broken bodies
That means that all star level 6 teams often have to accept athletes that haven't competed past level 3, which makes their routines much easier.
The competitive college programs are technically level 6 and are absolutely better than level 5 teams.
Thanks! You added what I wanted to say before I got tired of typing. And to add to that, it's the reason why level 6 teams like GymTyme are so good - most of their team cheers for Louisville. I believe Twist & Shout used to be the same way with OSU.
Then there's a whole slew of other level 6 teams that only practice once a week. You can't keep up with a team that practices multiple days per week. Plus, they aren't made of entirely level 6 athletes. There's not a lot of options for 18+ so you end up with a lot of level 4 athletes on a level 6 team.
For ICU, they take the best college cheerleaders in the country to make one team. You'd have a hard time getting a bunch of high school level 5 athletes to take the time off from their all-star team to train for ICU right before worlds.
Really? How long ago was that? I always remembered Advanced being what is now level 5. We have a banner from cheersport with Youth Large Advanced on it and we were throwing fulls and double downs in that routine. Elite was level 6 skills. I have never heard of a Premeir division. I started in 2000 and that is how it was then.to answer the question about why it's called elite and premier. a very long time ago, before everyone was using the numbers to call the levels, they were beginner, intermediate, advanced...elite for what's now level 5 and premier for what's now level 6.
Several teams who still have elite in their groupnames have those from the time the current level 5 was still called elite (think senior elite).
i dont remember the exact order and all the names, i know it has been discussed here several years ago.
i guess they decided to use those to make a difference between the allstar team competition and the national team competition.
I can remember Beginner, Novice, Intermediate, Excel and Advanced. Those eventually became 1,2,3,4 and 5Really? How long ago was that? I always remembered Advanced being what is now level 5. I so agree! I don't know why but I just love to watch the international squads. It's very neat that many of them have come so far in a short time, and it shows you the attraction of cheering when all nations show the same enthusiasm as our US squads. While i definitly agree that a lot of the countries competing at ICU are not as developed in Cheerleading as the US i still think that the Top 5 Teams definitly do show some impressive skills and a good competition. The Scandinavian countries are becoming stronger and stronger and also the south american countries put on some very exciting routines last year.
For me, ICU is a real World Championship as in ''Countries competing against each other''
USASF is a huge huge deal and winning is a massive accomplishment because of the ridiculous talent in all the divisions, but it is more like the ''Champions League'' in soccer for me :)
