..Can you change that? I live there and I'm honestly sick of seeing you everyday.

Nope hunny you get to see me everyday, yes I served it now learn it. Dont you hear me calling you miss hunny.... You knew that Id be back, you knew that I was not gone long miss HUNNY!

I would look at technique in tumbling and basing technique!! There are so many stunts that are done with the bases going crazy and dancing up under the flyer. And they sometimes are feet away from eachother!! I would also love to see cleaner routines and definetly look at execution. People probably would want me to judge because I would be harsh!!!

It was hard to read your posts because my computer automatically blocks that phrase..

The only reason that I even wrote it was because I know how much you love their mix.
I'd honestly forgotten about the serving bit...again with the WAITRESSING. *Totally off-topic, but I feel like they should attach serving trays to the bases backs and catch the fliers on them. I'm having a vision of that Toddlers and Tiaras episode where it was 50s themed and all the girls were little waitresses. Kinda weird lol

I look for clean transitions and execution in pretty much everything with a good amount of difficulty. Especially in the large division, I look for cleanliness and timing. With that many people on the floor, you look a mess if you aren't clean. I hate seeing ugly jumps. HATE it. If you are supposed to be doing toe touches, make them look like toe touches, not spread eagles.

You can sit by me!

Hell's starting to sound like fun..
OK back to the discussion.

I think I'd also really look at originality. It's VERY difficult to do this year, and I only see really one team (Stars) that stand out to me in still maintaining originality and high skill difficulty. It would be a DEFINITE plus if I was judging.

speaking of 50's theres this old diner that i use to love where the waitresses would skate around and do little performances.

I want to see cleanly executed difficulty. Teams that can hit the difficulty of their level with precision will always win me over. If the routine looks effortless all the way around with smooth transitions and a lot of action I will score them very high. Of course innovation is exciting too, so show me some creativity.

I wish Madtown Twisters coaches would post their sr Level 3. A performance they gave at a UCA comp was flawless (one fall at the very end was the only mistake I remember). I love watching teams like this.
TwistersPride JulieP any chance of that video going public?

julie uploaded it into the before and after stretching thread. someone had asked to see the single base stretches :) i don't know how to get it uploaded onto this thread.

Just an FYI, this is not the highest quality video. Generally I don't post video but after they won level 3 grand champs at Jam Live Chicago, the Jam Brands put their routine video online. So I guess people can see it if they really want to. Quite frankly, Jam Live was not their best performance so I would like people to remember this one and not that one which is the biggest reason I am posting UCA video. We've really been pushing our stunts and pyramid over the past month or so, so I can't wait to see what we can accomplish in the second half of the season. Anywho, the routine is decently clean- there are a couple of transitions that look a little rushed and we really need to work on our combo passes for running tumbling. Not too shabby for early in the year though.

Anywho, without going off on a rant- they had a very tough year last year. Lots of parent and athlete drama, so they are a small team but they're great to coach and they remind me on a daily basis of why I love coaching and I know TwistersPride feels the same.

I hate seeing each base group using different technique, just makes me bonkers. Also, when people do that frantic Easter egg hunt thing when they're moving formations etc. Everyone take a pill, simmer down and walk nicely, calmly and rationally to your next spot. Shockingly, you get there faster than "OMFG IDK WHERE TO GOOOOO....oh heres my spot".

Also, I look for strong and interesting openings and endings. Man I hate weak endings

Flexibility both on flyers and on jumps. If she's doing a right stretch to whatever-body-position-tick tock, she'd better straighten that right leg or I'd score it pretty low in terms of execution. Also, I'd prefer a team all doing high scorps than those with mixed with needles. I'd still score the one with needles a bit higher but I want uniformity :) Now jumps....STRETCH THOSE LEGS TO GOD KNOWS WHERE HUN and also point those toes please? Also, I like it if teams do their arm motions right even if the back doesn't jump as good as the front..oh..and synced jumps ok? :)

If I am hired as a judge, then I would be watching for whatever was on the scoresheet. Judges personal opinions on what SHOULD be important don't really matter within the context of judging a routine at a competition. They should only be judging according to the scoresheet/rubric that they are given.
