so is there a rule about a level 4 athlete crossing down to a level 2 this year? i know theres some rule with level 5 athletes?

An athlete may cross over to 2 other cheer teams in the same gym. There is no restrictions on a level 4 and level 2(: no worries!

Except at NCA (and maybe UCA like last year??) I believe. I think they are keeping their policy of not crossing levels. I COULD be wrong though....

It is up to the event producer. NCA, for example, won't allow crossovers between levels and also restricts the total number per team. Others let you do whatever you want within USASF rules.

i wouldnt think it would matter, a level 4 team mate might be really good, but its not like she is allowed to throw those level 4 skills on the level 2 team. she is only allowed to throw what the rules say she can for that level. so it is completely fair for them to cross down

And you think the majority of Level 2 girls have multiple BHS that look just like a girl with a layout.

thank you @imrichhowboutu the philosophy that it's fair because of level restrictions makes no sense. it's the same as saying it's fair to have a good level 5 team drop to level 3 because since they are only allowed to throw level 3 skills it makes it even between the real level 3 teams.

yeah i know that!

It is my understanding that NCA restricts it's crossovers so that they can maintain the tradition of performing in reverse order for finals. If they allowed crossing over to multiple levels it would be a logistic nightmare and they'd have to end the reverse order performances. Most companies do not do reverse order performances which allows for more time to accommodate crossovers at their events.

On a side note I never understand why some posters get upset in regard to crossovers. It's perfectly within the rules and has been allowed for years yet some how many tend to feel it gives a team the upper hand or an inflated ability to be successful. I'd naturally think that the programs who do have crossovers are making quite a scarifice to do so considering the time restraints for practices, the risk of the individual that crosses over getting sick or injured, and not to mention the extra expense that is involved with crossovers which is not cheap at all. At the end of the day great coaching and an awesome routine will always prevail crossovers or not.
