I have a big dream to open my own gym when I'm older. I was wondering, if I only had enough kids to do a group stunt, would the gym be able to participate in comps if they only have 4-5 individuals and one group stunt?

I can't see any reason why not! :) Maybe competitions are run differently in the States, but here in Aus that is totally fine and perfectly normal. When I started my program I did that for our first two competitions (just entered two group stunts) since we weren't ready to enter a full cheer routine yet. Would be in the EP's best interest as well to let you enter just a group stunt/individual (as opposed to nothing at all) since it means more money in their pockets and new customers! :p

coachbd is right! Also, its a good way for you to get your name out there by just having a couple girls go and represent the gym. People will be curious what gym they are from and prompt them to look into it.
