wow crazy...can't even imagine a coach teaching that to a team..scary! i wonder how many bad falls it took to hit pyramids like that...

I always think that when I see videos like this. I can only imagine how many falls it takes to get it to hit in practice. I love watch it but I really don't want to see US teams trying stuff like that because it will be just as scary. There are so many level 6 teams that shouldn't be level 6 as it is so throwing stuff like that in there is an injury waiting to happen.

I love that Japan can do these stunts and hit them SOLID. But the idea of imagining some open 6 teams throwing stuff like this...well, the sprung floor can only do so much.

THEY HAVE ONE CATCHER CATCHING THE FLYER OUT OF THE TOP OF A 1-1-1 :eek::eek:

Dangerous dismounts are dangerous.....

Truth be told its all amazing to watch but it makes me nervous.. Those stunts are extremely risky but they look so flawless when they do them. I get scared because japan had their first cheerleading related death not to long ago and it is due to the fact that they take much higher risks in their stunting.. I think about how ppl were commenting on the Michigan injury giving a bad rep.

I hope for a world standard for rules and regulation to eliminate further injuries especially in other country trying to compete with the US..

The recent death in Japan was on an unmatted surface.

They've actually been doing the toe touch to catch thing for awhile now in Asia. The earliest I could find of them on youtube is the '09 routine doing it at 2:07, but I think some of the asian coed teams have been throwing those for several more years.
They are great stunters, but some of the things they do such as that toss don't fit u.s. safety standards, hence it not being seen around America or other countries that follow similar safety standards...
This is them on day 1 this year... Its a closer view for the video but there is a terrifying fall around 1:22.

I saw a all-girl team from Japan doing it 2007! They performed at a comp I was at. Guess if I was amazed...

omg that fall is horrifying ,and that floor is no spring floor

Yeah...and then the girl fist pumps like that was supposed to happen and they move on.

I can only imagine what practices look like when they're learning those skills...

They're all so tight. & they don't just have good pyramids, they're doing high-high tick tocks & have seriously good jumps!

They seem so dangerous to us, but its the way things are over there. To be competitive in their own country, they have to take those risks. Its sad there isn't uniform rules worldwide as these teams will never want to compete at the Florida worlds due to spotter restrictions and it would just be amazing to see their style against GymTyme Orange for example. It'd be like Bangkok & Nfinity all over again!

Was there another death or is everyone talking about the death from a basket toss on a court in Chinese Taipei that was within the last 2 months?...... just for clarification

They are just phenomenal stunters.
(The 1-1-1 stunt where they throw the girl up she does a toe touch and lands on top of another flyer is just so innovative)

I know for a fact, we'll be seeing this more and more this year. Particularly, in a level 5 version.
Done are they days of our old load-ins - it's time to innovate to stand out.

Great Job Japan!

Simply amazing! BEST I have ever seen!

I'm curious as to how the Toe Touch catch and the level 5 18 inch rule will work out..... that will be an extremely gray line, no??
