CrownedtheGR8est said:Gotta brag about our Senior Coed 5 kids. Up until about a month and a half ago.. the team really didn't exist and people would come and go. Could barely hit straight ups, had a good amount of fulls but less than 3 doubles. Since that time, we've really trimmed the excess (slackers) of the team, ironically they quit, and we were able to fill their spots with more willing and dedicated athletes.
A month and a half of hard core conditioning and the team will be competing next weekend with four pretty solid stunt groups, tick tocking and 1 and 1/4 ups. Still working on the final roster, but its just amazing what our kids have accomplished, seeing as most teams have tryouts in may and have had at least 6 months of work until this time.
KC Swag baby
im going through a mental block right now. going on 7 months.... i have everything up to a running double working on standing to double and standing full then one day at practice a girl landed her tumbling right behind where i landed my bhs so i did flip i was just going to rebound and my rebound ended up being so high i ended up flipping and landing on my neck. and its really hard for me to write or think about this day because it makes me sad and i start to cry because i have trouble doing a running tuck now and its just really hard. i know i can do it just at the last second my body just wont flip over anymore after that handspring...
Thanks! i will definetlly try that!!The skill and talent I see in the kids at these gyms simply amazes me. Samantha Mazza When you talk about your skills, you say it so matter-of-factly. You already know in your head the skill is yours. It was never taken away. I have never been a tumbler, but my daughter is. She has gone through multiple mental blocks. However, I don't think they compare. She has never fallen *knocks on wood* I have seen kids fall and then get right back up as if nothing happened. I wish I could give you advise on how to fix it. But, I'm not a psychiatrist. Just remember this. SOMETHING caused it. You know EXACTLY what caused it. Knowing it was not you that did it, it was someone/something else should let you know that you STILL have that skill. It was a freak accident not a daily occurrence. Be stong, confident and think of something when tumbling. My daughter sings lyrics to a song or makes facials even at practice. I think she's like the only one who actually does facials at practice lol. But it helps her. distract yourself. I hope this works a little. I am certainly no guru. I really hope everything works out for you and you are back at it in no time :) Good Luck!
Ok this ain't really a huge accomplishment but it's something I can finally say...
Anyone who seen any of my daughters old tumbling videos knows that my daughter is like the slowest runner/tumbler. She has been really trying to pick up the speed because even before in running tumbling she had no power lol it was pretty bad.
No matter how many times we told her to run fast it didn't click till someone told her to pretend like a dog is chasing her and your running from the dog .. Lol
Now here is a link to a video.. I use to make longer videos for her with a whole bunch of tumbling clips but I told her I wouldn't do it again till she got her tuck because no one wants to watch a 5 min video of nothing but back handsprings. So no she doesn't have her tuck yet and this video isn't that great. It's just 3 different passes.. I made it regular speed and then slow motion so she could see what she was doing wrong. And no her tumbling ain't that pretty but it does show you that she has definitely sped the tumbling up!!:)
