Learning The Score Sheet

Hello everyone,

I really need help learning the score sheet. I would love to know how to max on score sheets. What are elements? What are structures? Are there any conferences that will teach me in more depth on the score sheets?

Which score sheet. Unfortunately there is not a universal score sheet, so what you need varies a bit by EP.

A few simple score sheet terms:

Structures-- "Pictures" in a pyramid
LTDs-- Load ins, transitions, dismounts
Elements-- Level appropriate skills. Won't be counted if they're legal in lower levels.

Once you understand how to read a score sheet, they're pretty self-explanatory. Varsity and JAM Brands both have scoring guidelines. Both are very helpful to understanding the respective score sheet.

Often if you go to the event website, you can download the score sheets so that you know what the judges will be looking at.

You can also call that competition and speak with somebody about their particular scoresheet. We decided to do that and it helped out tremendously.
