Hi guys, so about a month ago i started experiencing mild lower back pain especially at school and on my right side. It also started to hurt when I arched my back but that might be from soreness. I took an xray and it was fine so i started physical therapy and have been on it for a few weeks. It has helped alot and most of the pain while sitting has gone away. But sometimes it still aches or hurts when i arch my back and for some reason i feel pain as i let go of my scorp/needle and only a little bit when i tumble. Overall the pain has gotten better. My pt said my hips were a little dissaligned but now they're back and my right side of my back wasnt strong enough, and my parents say im just phsycing myself out because it only hurts when i think about it or worry about it. has anyone else experienced this? is it normal?

There are a lot of threads about back pain. My daughter has had back issues but she's doing we'll now. You could still have a stress fracture (spondylolysis) because they don't show up often on X-ray. I would check out some of the back pain threads and also some of the threads on back stretches.

I went to another orthepedic the other day and took some more X-rays. the xrays looked fine but he said because it has been going on for 3 months i should take a bone scan just to be sure its not a stress fracture. (he said its prob unlikely). it hasnt been hurting TOO much lately, it aches a bit and hurts to arch my back but at practice im fine. My parents think im worrying to much and I THINK it hurts because it only hurts if i think about it. stress fracture?

Ive cheered with many girls with this problem. My sister also had stress fractures, which came from the way she sat in to her back handspring. Make sure your not dropping your shoulders when you reach the handstand.

did the girls who had this problem have stress fractures?

I've had all of that happen to me! My hips still arent aligned though...but I wouldnt say its normal but it happens. my lower back started hurting a year and a half ago and I was told I strained ligiments and also went to a PT. Hope that helps :)

If your physical therapist said that the right side of your back wasn't strong enough...chances are that's your problem. When one side of your body isn't as strong, the other side over compensates for it, and it turns into a web of injuries.
