My cp (almost 12) has been going to sports training 2 hours a week for the past 2 years. They do alot of different types of conditioning including weights. She is in a small group of 4 people max so she is supervised at all times.
Besides making her "ripped" it has helped her tumbling, endurance and flying tremendously. I also see it as a prevention for injury as they are targeting areas prone to injury and building them up!
She is the only cheer person in the program... but let me tell you they love to pair her with football and soccer high school boys.... I can hear the trainer across the room shouting "are you gonna let a little girl show you up????"
Its wonderful entertainment!
Gabi doesn't lift any weights. She just trains about 5 days a week in the gym. She tumbles pretty much every day and she does a lot of "p90x" and "insanity" excercises. She doesn't eat all that great. We feed her real meals though (not processed stuff) and she stays away from the fast food (she despises McDonalds). She enjoys her pancakes and whipped cream as many mornings as she can though! LOLi have no idea if she lifts weights on her own time.. maybe John Butler ?
but i do know she is a dedicated kid that is in the gym every available second, constantly working new skills. those muscles are definitely a result of hard work.
So funny my older ex-cp always did too from the time she was 4. I always thought she was such a good tumbler because of her freakishly strong core. My cp does not have the same ripped abs as her sister did.My CP has ripped abs and does nothing extra.
