Hi,

in your opinion, could the nape piercing (piercing at the back of the neck) hurt me, or exposed me or teammate at risk, in cheerleading?
I'm a base, in my country i dont know about rules against it. But do you think it's safe?

ty :)

Yes, in my opinion it could definitely injury you or maybe another person. Like a flyer coming down from a cradle could hit it and pull it out or something.

I would not take the injury/insurance risk of having someone with that piercing on any of my squads. It *might* be safe! but that's not an injury/lawsuit I'm willing to take the risk on. It's my business, livelihood and reputation at stake, even taping it would not be enough for me. Piercing out or they don't cheer, end of.

I don't think it's safe. As a base, your flyer could always rip it out by catching around your neck or if something is not going the right way.
I had a dermal anchor on my ankle, i was wearing a brace over it my last year cheering, but i would always wait to get a piercing when i'm still cheering.
It wasn't a smart decision at all, i had ut for a year, then i was on holiday and i guess all the sand and water wasn't to good for it, i got an infection and it had to be taken out.
Not worth it.
